A Southeast Asian design strategist for decolonial sustainability and regeneration; an adept trickster, complexity navigator and creative destroyer. Professional heartbreaker specialising in sledgehammer arts.
I was born to an ancestral lineage and series of mixed cultural heritages reflecting the complexities of colonisation across South, East and Southeast Asia. I was brought up in a heavily Westernised society built upon centuries of genocide, ethnocide and epistemicide. I carry no European DNA, and yet my life and the lives of my ancestors have been dictated by Europeans, European culture, and European systems.
Billions of folk across the Global South live similar experiences, under the yoke of colonialism, enslaved.
Colonial injustices have yet to be addressed. Colonial injustices continue unabated. Coloniality is rewarded by default.
So I use what power and privilege I have at my disposal for decolonisation. Actual decolonisation, not "decolonisation lite", or what we over at POSSIBLE FUTURES Decolonial Collective call "recolonisation".
I am in the business of decolonising the futuring industries, with a precise, targeted approach to disarming, disabling and dismantling colonial designs, perspectives, and systems.
I break hearts by showing folk how sustainability is colonial. I provide folk with the skills to interrogate coloniality and to embody decolonisation authentically in their contexts.
Colonisation caused planetary systems collapse. The only route to planetary regeneration is decolonisation.
