Dear Kiss The Ground,

I see you promoting your white male American movie all around the world. Stop it.

I saw you making this film, and I said nothing because this is a story that needs to be told.

I saw you inviting different international regeneration networks to your film premieres, and I said nothing because most of these networks are dominated by North Americans anyway, and they might really enjoy this film and find it useful.

I saw that this film is a white male American story catering to white male American farmers, and I said nothing because white male American farmers need to see this film and understand how to work in tandem with nature.

I saw you promote watch parties of your film in the Global North, and I said nothing because many commercial farms in Europe and Oceania relate to the white male American story given the similar contexts.

But then,

I saw you market your film to the Global South. To Latin America, Africa and Asia.

I saw farming collectives, ecoactivists, green business advocates, sustainability consultants, corporate social responsibility professionals, non-profit organisations, educators and practitioners all across the Global South begin to turn their attention your way.

I watched as they dropped their interests in local stories, in local efforts, in local communities, as they tuned into your well-produced…
